About:China Visa Application in USA

Does anyone know if you can still get your passport mailed back from the consulate in Chicago?

My brother did that just a few months ago, but I can't confirm that it still exists. It's really important for me so I can book by bus/train tickets accordingly. Please help if you know!

The embassy/consulate does not accept the mail application now. So you cannot mail your passport to them and ask them to return back.

I think you misunderstood my question. I want to apply in person but have my passport mailed back to me. My brother did this just a few months ago in June. He went to Chicago, applied, and then they mailed his passport home a few weeks later.

Based on my information, the embassy or any consulate does not provide that service now. You can still contact the consult for further confirming.
