Hi. I am Irish living in Mongolia. I used to live in China for a few years and while my time here in Mongolia I would like to go Beijing to visit friends sometimes. I feel getting multiple entry & exit is easy. But will I be able to get it without invitation letter? and how much?

Sue, I assume that you want to get a multiple-entry L type, right? If you don't have the invitation letter, you need to provide hotel reservation and return air ticket. Besides, previous Chinese visa records are needed if you plan to get a multiple-entry one. And the consular office has the final say to decide whether a multiple entry one will be granted or not.
