what can be used as Chinese identification?

Hi, I'm going back to China next month under category Q2 to see family back there, I have the invitation letter from my uncle, but not sure what he can use as Chinese ID? Can he use his passport as Chinese ID to help me in my visa application?

If your uncle a Chinese or a foreigner?
If he is a Chinese, he must have an ID card and your uncle will know. At least, he can use his household register.
In China, the passport cannot used as a Chinese ID card if he/she is a Chinese. If he/she is a foreiger, he/she can use it as an ID card.
