Visa from shenzhen airport

I am a British national and I am flying into shenzhen international airport at 00:40 in the morning. Can anyone tell me if I need to buy a permit at the airport. If I can't, then where should I buy it? Will I be allowed to enter Shenzhen. I plan to move directly to Hong Kong in the early morning.

What is the best way to get to Hong Kong from Shenzhen?

It means you will stay in Shenzhen for less than 24 hours?
If so, you do not need a Transit G. If you want to leave the airport to enter Shenzhen, you just need to apply for a stay permit at the immigration counter and then leave.

You are suggested to take a ferry from Shenzhen Shekou Ferry Terminal to HK directly. It takes less time.

Thanks Mike. I will enter and leave shenzhen airport. How much does the stay visa cost? I will only be arriving and departing from shenzhen, not staying there. The ferry is the best way way to get to HK?

I think you just have a transfer in HK. The staying time I use here means the transfering time (from your arrival time to your departure time) in Shenzhen.

It is free to apply for the stay permit. You only need to show your valid passport and ticket to leave Shenzhen to apply it.

Personally speaking, the ferry is a pretty nice choice to reach HK. The ferr takes less time. Or you can find direct buses to HK from Ground Transportation Center in the airport. The buses can be easily taken, but it takes long time.
