Staying while visa is being processed

I am in China on an L visa waiting for my future employer to submit my paperwork for my work type (we are waiting on a document from the UK). My L type may expire before the Work Z is granted (FAO says it takes two weeks to get it). The question is, once the Work Z application has been submitted, am I ok to stay in China, or does it have to be completed before the expiration of the L type? In other words, does the application have to be submitted two weeks before the L expires, or is it ok to submit it just a few days before?

It may cause you some problems if your L expires, but your Work Z is not got. If possible, you are suggested to sumbit your documents two weeks in advance to avoid troubles.

BTW, your future employer will help you to get the Work Z from begining to end? If so, you can ask your future employer to solve this problem for you. I think you can get a good solution from your future employer.

Anyway, good luck with you ~

I went to entry/exit bureau today and talked to them in person. It is ok to apply for the Z just a day before the L expires. It's ok if the L expires while your Z is being processed. So you don't have to apply for the Z two weeks before the L expires, just a day or two is enough.
