About:Chinese Embassy in South Africa

Can South Africans be granted a visa for China?

I read in the press that South Africans are not being granted it for China because of the Ebola outbreak Is this true?

There is no such kind of notice or news in China. But the inspections and limitations are becoming strict for travelers from South Africa. Personally speaking, you are not suggested to go to China if you are not in an urgent issue.

Actually yes there are problems for south africans who want to work in china. They will have to stay in quarantine
for a month but for some reason this new law doesn't affect tourists.

Amy, I think you should confirm this with Chinese embassy in South Africa directly. They can give you an authentic answer.

Hi. I am a South African working in China. I came in with no problem. I have applied for tourist (L) type and came in as a tourist, then I applied for work type entry permit. I started teaching on my second day in China. They have scanners at the airport to check your physical appearance only. But as far as I know South Africa is not affected by Ebola at all.
