About:China Visa Application Procedure and Fee

flight transfer in Nanjing airport

Hi, there,

I'm flying from Sydney Australia to Osaka Japan in Jan 2015, need to stay overnight in Nanjing and wait for the connecting flight the next morning (about 12 hrs in between). So do I need a Chinese visa to stay in a hotel?

Since your transfering time is just for 12 hours, you do not need it to stay in a Chinese hotel. You can enjoy the 24-hour free transit policy. You can apply for a stay permit to leave the airport and stay in a hotel.
