About:China Tourist Visa

is an L visa enough ?

I plan to travel to Guangdong & Beijing from India, along with a client for selection of furniture for his Residence.

Personally speaking, a L is enough if you just see some furniture and buy for person use.
If you can find someone or company to issue you an invitation letter, you can provide that. If it cannot be provided, you can provide your round trip tickets and hotel bookings in China instead. Besides, you still need to provide a statement, bank statement and other documents the embassy requires.
