About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

Entering China From Laos

Hello, I would like to enter China from Laos via Luang Namtha entering Mengla/Jinghong. I have a flight out of Beijing, but no flight entering the country. The visa application says you need a return flight and I have had that in the past when applying. Is an outbound flight sufficient if I say I plan on entering from land and have a hotel booked? What is the best method for addressing this. Many thanks!

Matt

Matt, you actually can apply for a L type with your booked hotel in China and flight departing from Beijing. However, I am not sure if you can apply for the L type successfully in Laos. You may contact Chinese embassy in Laos to confirm this.

Would you mind tell your home country?
In general, all your preparation will make it easier to get that, but it is still not assured that you can get one in the end.

Thanks for your help William. So if I provide hotel bookings for my whole stay, with an outbound flight, I should be okay? I plan on staying for 60 days, so will need to make a lot of bookings I suppose....
