About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Airport Hopping

Hi,
I want to book a fligth from Ho-Chi-Minh to Shanghai for 19th Dec where I got a flight to Germany on 20th of december. But there are only flights available which stop over in Guangzhou.
When I arrive in Guangzhou I guess I have to go through customs there but will i be able to get a 72h visa there since the connecting flight is to Shanghai and not directly to Germany? Or can I get two 72h free transit right after another?

Thanks for any help,

Oli

For your situation, you need to stop twice in China before flying to Germany, right?
If so, you are unable to enjoy the 72-hour free transit policy, because this policy is only available to transfering in one city in China.

May I know your total transfering time in China? If you it is within 24 hours, you are able to enjoy the 24-hour free transit, otherwise, you need to apply for a Transit G in advance for your transfering.

Yes, I would stop twice, and in total more than 24 hours. In that case I will try to get a flight directly to Shanghai somehow, so I can avoid applying for a visa. Thanks for your advice!!
