Train ticket can it be purchase at the station on travel day

Is it possible to purchase ticket at station immediately on the same day travel ?

Yes, you can buy at station directly on the travel date. But if you are travelling during a holiday, you'd better buy in advance. The ticket in China sold out so quickly during public holiday.

Yes. And many people do just this.
BUT....
The chances are that there will only be hard-seat tickets available which, if you only want to go a short distance, are fine. But, if you want to go any sort of distance, you'll be VERY lucky to get a sleeper (Travel in pairs/a group and the chances of getting berths go up from VERY lucky to minor miracle. Multiple berths in the same car = visitation from on-high) and hard-seat isn't comfortable after about an hour.
Basically: it is possible... But not advisable.
