convert M visa to Q1 visa

dears, I would appreciate if someone help me regarding this case, I have been visited before on M type to china, and now I have M type and i will go to china next month (with M type) I plan to marry my girlfriend in china, if we married in china successfully, can I convert my M to Q1 without leaving china? and how long can I stay in china?

In general, it is impossible to change a M to a Q1 within China, but for your situation, you are suggested to consult the local Exit-Entry Adminstration Bureau directly.

With Q1, you still need to change it to a resident permit, so that you can stay in China for more than 180 days.

you can't convert your M visa to Q1. But there are a much better way. If you were to marry your partner in china that would solve all your problem. I once had a M visa but having trouble with the duration of stay. Once you are married to Chinese citizen everything become easy. Just bring along your spouse and the marriage cerfiticate issued by the Chinese Govt to your local Exit and Entry department. You will need your passport and your partner detail. Once a medical check-up being done. You will be issued a resident permit with a duration of 1-3 years. Sometime you will get 5 years. They issued me a 2 years RP and you could extend if the RP is over. Once you get your Resident Permit everything become very easy. And there are lot's more other matter that you could apply to. You will need to obtain your Temporary Resident Permit in your local police station before going to the Entry and Exit department. Please be noted that you are not allow to work with your resident permit. But once your marriage is over 5 years your could apply for PR. If you intended to after 5 years. With PR once obtain, you are the same as other Chinese citizen in china
