About:Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka

Need Immediate help - Z visa

Hi I am a Sri Lanka n, I work in chine with z type (resident permit) in August this year I left my company and found a new company in shanghai when I left my previous company my work permit cancelled and gave a release letter but my resident permit which is valid until April 2015 was not cancelled. New company said that since my work permit is cancelled I cannot apply from china for a new work permit and gave me invitation letter and work permit licence to go back to sri lanka and apply from embassy for work Z again

my question is I have visa untill next year april 2015 and I go back and apply again for Work Z entry, so embassy will cancel my current resident permit on my Passport and give me z entry to enter china?

The Chinese embassy in your country will issue you a new Work Z after you provide them those documents and your current resident permit will expire automatically.

thanks.Since its Valid until April 2015 I thought It is a requirement to cancel it before I apply for new one, want to double confirm with you

Yasiru, to make sure, you are still suggested to call the Chinese embassy in your country to confirm this.
Based on my information, you can get a new Work Z, but with it, you may not able to apply for a new resident permit, because of the former one.

You can also call your local Exit-Entry Adminstration Bureau for consulting. Probably, they can tell you a suitable method to solve your problem just within China.

Thanks again for the reply, I am trying to contact the embassy many times but no one answered from the office, from the embassy normally do the cancel the current residence permit and give me the z entry visa.

my new company visas are handled by an agency they referred my documents and suggested this and gave me these documents asking me to go back and apply
