About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

My Z visa has recently been cancelled.

I have until Nov. 14th to make a move. I did find a new job, but my employer is not authorized to sponsor my Z (I don't think). Is it possible for me to obtain an M type in HK. Or is it impossible to switch? If I can, in fact, switch to an M type, how should I go about obtaining a new residence permit?

If you got a M type, you are unable to work in China because it is illegal.

Usually, the employer will not sponsor to get a Work Z, but they will help you to get a new work permit and an invitation letter. If they help you to get them, it is OK. After you get a new permit and a letter, you can apply for a new resident permit at the local PSB with your new work permit, new contract, an application form with a recent taken photo, employer’s valid Business License, your new passport, Original Registration Form of Temporary Residence.

BTW, it is not allowed to change a M type to a resident permit.
