Chengdu, Kunming, Shangrila, Guilin - Winter

I would like to travel around south china as cheap as it´s possible with my boyfriend. We are young couple. We have 2 weeks in the end of December. And we read somewhere about frozen Yubeng waterfall where you can get on a pony (is it too dangerous in winter?) , or Rice fields in the south and elephants,.. or Li River at Guilin... Is it a good idea in winter visit these places? And in such a short time and find the cheapest way? It is very difficult find such a specific information on internet, Thank you ahead

Hi, it is fine to visit these places except Yubeng Village. In end of Dec. there has been much snowfall in Yubeng, so it has the risk of snowslide. For the sake of safety, I suggest you avoid going that area. The cruise in Li River in Guilin would still be available.

Then for the rest destinations, the public transportation would be in operation. If possible, book hotels and train or flight tickets in advance. Apart from that, you should prepare sweater, enough winter garment and boots. For Shangrila, the scarf and gloves are also needed.
