About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

Is the expiration date from the time you enter China or when you must leave by?

I am from the US and have a multiple visit Visa, which expires on Oct 30 2014. If I want to enter China before that on October 28th, but not leave China until after the expiration date in November will I have a problem?

The expiring date is the deadline for leaving China.
The situation you describe is OK and you will not have a problem. So please do not worry.
