About:China Visa on Arrival

Hongqiao to Pudong Do I need a visa for transit???

I am coming from Colombo to Kunming and from there I am going to Shanghai and then to Sapporo. My flight from Kunming lands in Hongqiao and then I have to move to Pudong. So I am just a passenger uses China as a transit. Do I need a transit G in that case??? My flight will land in Hongqiao at 21:50. Will I be able to catch the transit bus for Pudong airport?

How long will you stay in China in total? Or you will go to Kuming for a visit and then to Shanghai?

In general, if your total transfering time is less than 24 hours (the time from landing to departing China), you do not need a Transit G, otherwise, you need to have one.

The airport shuttle bus line 1 to Pudong airport is still available at that time.

Mohan, you can calculate how long you stay in total by checking your air tickets. When did you land at Shanghai airport? When will you leave from Kunming? If the duration is longer than 24 hours, then you'd better apply for a G type in advance.
