Hi there, I have a few questions regarding the type and time that I will apply for, before I book my flights tomorrow.I am entering China as a 'trainee' on an internship for a firm. Is it right that I am applying for an F type? I habe an invitation letter from the company.Second question. I am planning on staying between 3-6 months. Is it right that I apply for 6 months multiple entry one, even though I will be entering the country only once? Would really appreciate some answers, unfortunately I can't get through to the Consulate office.

Lennie, will you be paid as a trainee? If so, you are required to apply for a Z type. If not, a F type is ok.  Yes, you can apply for a six month multiple one for your stay in China. But you may be required to exit mainland China before each of your duration ends. Normally, each duration is around one month. You needn't get back to New Zealand. Going to HK or Macau is ok.

Thanks for answering my questions Eva! Really appreciate it as I've never been to China before, or applied it. Is there such thing as a single entry 6 months type? I'm not planning on leaving Beijing. For some reason it's not on the list. But no, I won't be paid so good to know that an F type will be ok.

Usually, it is not easy to get a single entry with 6 months duration of stay. If you require that kind, you may need to consult the embassy to confirm this.

Thanks Tina. I managed to get through to a Consulate office, however they did not understand my situation and said they couldn't help me until they saw my application. I'm worried as I'm about to book my flights and I don't want there to be a problem with my application.
