Which Visa is best for me with a Chinese wife?

I am moving back to China after an absence of 5 years. My wife is Chinese and we are looking at which type I should get. I know that I can get a Temporary Resident Permit for 5 years if I get a Q1. However I am unsure if I can work on a Q1, would a regular Z be the better option? Considering the Q1 as its easier to search for jobs from China rather then abroad.

If you want to work, you need to apply for a Z. Working is illegal with a Q.
You can find a job when you are in Canada and then apply for a Z. Then after you enter China, you can change it to a resident permit to live for a long time in China.
