Visa-free in PRC

I´m getting more and more confused with explanation -(Transit)-visa or not.

If I come from Germany - Transit HK to SHA for 3 days stay, than back to HK/MAC staying one week,
do I Need visa via consulate or getting by entrance SHA.?
OR - FRA staying HK 1 week, onwards SHA for 72 hrs , than SHA-HK transit- FRA?

For both the cases, Chinese visa is needed for your transit in SHA. If to use the 72h visa-free policy, your route should be an international area - SHA - another international area/city (different from your departing site).
P.S: HK and Macao are usually regarded as the same area.
