How can we head to the Shanghai World Financial Center Observatory from Nanjing Road?

It is around 2.5mi between, so you can take a taxi to reach exactly. Or walk to East Nanjing Road metro station to take subway line 2 and get off at Lujiazui. Get out from exit 6 and you can easily walk to your destination.
