About:Transfer at Shanghai Maglev Stations

We are arriving Pudong Airport. Staying at the Sofitel Hyland on Nanjing road.

It looks like we take the train and then subway 2. Can someone please give me details as far as price, how easy to find the Subway 2 at train station. Any advice is greatly appreciated. We think this option is better than a taxi as we will have light luggage.

Yes, you are right. The Maglev + metro shall be a better choice. At the airport, the signages to the train is very clear. To take that, you can get off at Longyang Road station, where transfer to metro line 2 and get off at East Nanjing Road. Leave through exit 4 and you can walk to your hotel in a few minutes.

Thank you for the info Felicia. Are there manned ticket booths to make purchases at airport and subway connection? Is there a way to look at a map of the routes on line?

Yes, the ticket for both the train and subway can be bought at the ticket office or Customer Service Center in the stations. It is pretty easy. Don't worry! To find the route, you can search for the metro map in this website.

Thank you again! I did see the map and have also located how to get to the Yu Yuan Gardens! We might even be able to walk there...not quite sure yet. We are only in the city for a couple days before boarding Victoria cruise to Chongqing. Is the Bund History Museum worth seeing? What else might be a must see (as we have been there before on a tour for the major sights)? Anything you can suggest? Restaurants?

Personally, the History Museum is worthy of your time. Apart from that, you can spend sometime in Xin Tian Di and Tian Zi Fang to see the old residences of local people - Shikumen. If you have visited Yu Yuan Garden, have fun in Ancient Yi Garden this time.

And if you are interested, take local sightseeing bus line 1 or line 2 to generally see the major buildings and attractions in the city. U will have a lot of fun with that.

Hi Felicia! Thank you so much. We will have a wonderful time. Appreciate all your good information.

One more question. Herbert says it will take about 2 hours if we took the metro all the way from the airport. Is that correct? Do you know long will it take with the Meglev/Metro? A little worried with jet lag if a taxi would be better, although more. We arrive around 6:30PM.

Actually, if you use metro for the through way and get off at East Nanjing Road, it takes around an hour. If you use Maglev train + metro, the train takes around 8min and the metro takes no more than 20min.
