About:How to Get from Hangzhou to Shanghai

How far is West Lake from Hangzhou railway station.

If our tour to West Lake ends around 11.30 am how long will it take us to reach the railway station by taxi? It is safer to catch the 1400 hrs (or later) bullet train to Shanghai? Also, is it more advisable to purchase tickets in advance?

It is only around 1.6mi from the railway station, so time is sufficient. Don't worry! Many trains operate from the station to Shanghai. It is fine to buy a ticket on the spot except peak seasons like National Day Holiday and Spring Festival, when you'd better book the ticket in advance.
