About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

NY-BKK-HKG-PEK-NY

Would the above trip quailfy for the Visa Free Transit. I am concerned since I am originally starting in NY but I am actually entering from Hong Kong
It's confusing

You are qualified for the 72-hour free transit, since your trip to Beijing is from HK and then leave Beijing for NY.
