Generally speaking, it’s quite safe if you take the buses operated officially. Don’t take the private bus or car. I suggest you go to the KM West Bus Station to take the bus to Shangri-la.It takes about 12 hours on the whole ride. By the way, the first bus departing from the west bus station is at 08:30 and the bus fare is CNY212 – 243.
