How to get dependent visa?

I was working in China but recently left my job and my company has cancelled my work permit(the red book). But i have the residence permit on my passport which will expire in next year June.

I want to know can i stay in china untill it expires??? will that be legal???

I was thinking to change my current work Z to dependent type as my sister-in-law is Chinese. Is it possible to do that??
What kind of documents would be required???

Since your resident permit is still valid, you can stay in China legally. But it is suggested to confirm with the company that they did not cancel your resident permit. I heard some company may cancel the staff's resident permit after they leave.

Based on my information, you may not change it to a dependent type. At most, you may change it to a Tourist L. For detail information, you still need to contact the local Exit-Entry Adminstration Bureau for asking.

Your sister inlaw isn't your mom or dad or wife, so you can never get a dependent or family visa from them. Don't stay illegally in China these days, it isn't smart.
