About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hello. If I travelling to Hong Kong and Singapore, do I need a visa for shanghai?

Hello. As a Canadian, do I qualify for the 72 hour free transit? I am departing from Canada, flying to Hong Kong and then onwards to Singapore. I would like to make a side trip to Shanghai for a couple of days while in Hong Kong.

You mean you will fly from HK to Shanghai and then to Singapore?
If so, you can enjoy the 72-hour free transit with your valid passport. Please do not worry.
