About:Packing Tips for Traveling China

Will the chinese authorities allow us to take food from Britain into China?

My daughter is visiting China with school. She will be staying with a family for one week and we would like to give them some presents. I wondered if we could take food items into China such as sweets, cheese, cake etc I would hate to let her take it in her suitcase only to get stopped at the airport in china and have it confiscated.

Sweets are ok. However, cheese, egg, meat and dairy products are not allowed to enter China.
