MLG, you can exchange NZ dollars into RMB at the banks in China. However, not all banks can do this. You'd better use Bank of China to exchange your money. I went there just a few days ago and knew that they were capable of doing this.

Yes, you can also use the atm

ATM's are great ways to get exchange money.

Bring your debit card and let your New Zealand Bank know that you will be in China.

Use ICBC or Bank of china atm, and you can get rmb out, using your debit card.
