Z Visa / residence Renewal

Hello, I got my Work Z last November and my Residence Permit soon after. My employer facilitated the whole process for me, which was nice. However, I have a new younger supervisor that doesn't seem to know much about the renewal process. She says I need to go to Hong Kong again, which sounds strange to me. Is she correct about that?

Hi, Machi. You mean you already had the resident permit and just want to renew it, right?
If so, if you apply for to extend one year, the fee is 400RMB. If you plans to extend for a long time, the fee will be high.
For the extension, you do not need to go to HK, but just go to your local Exit-Entry Adminstration Bureau.
