train tickets from chengdu to chongqing

I will be in Chengdu in mid May 2015 for 2 nites and can I buy train ticket to Chongqing when I arrive 1st day in Chengdu at the railway station and will the tickets be available readily ? Other than at the railway station where can I buy the tickets in the city /

Generally yes, you can buy the tickets at the train station on your arrival day. Apart from the train station, there are many other ticket offices in the city, such as the branch at no. 58, fourth section of South Renmin Road, Jinjiang District and the one at no. 24, Yangshi Street, Qingyang District.Anyway, I still wanna remind you that it will be during the high season, so you'd better check the availability of the tickets 10-20 days in advance. If there will be few tickets left, book one online as soon as possible.
