About:Shanghai Travel

We are from Germany n USA traveling to Manila, Philippines from FRA with 16 hr layover in Shanghai

We are a small group that will be traveling to Philippines, but we would like to visit the city because there is a16 hour layover before our final destination. Do we qualify for the 72 hours visa pass? if we do, where do we get it? in SH or Frankfurt, Germany airport? Also, will we have to recheck in our bags ? if so, where can we store our lugagges when we visit the city?

thank you for reading my question.

Yes, you are qualified for the policy. You need to put forward your request for transit to your airline in advance so that the airline can declare this to the Immigration Inspection prior to your visit. Upon landing, you will be granted a transit permit at the airport. With the permit, you can take a short visit in the city.

If you use the same airlines for the whole journey, they may have the luggage check-through service. With that, you don't need to recheck your lugagge. You'd better consult your airline in advance for this issue. If not, there are luggage-left counters in the airport. Don't worry!
