About:Hong Kong MTR Tickets & Fares

I will be in Hong Kong for 3 weeks soon

In between, I wanted to visit my home town Shantou (汕頭市) in China. I heard train travelling in China can be so efficient and comfortable if you know what you are doing. Can someone help me with a general itinerary and some tips or some useful websites?
(By the way, a big THANK YOU for your quick and clear answer yesterday. 3 cheers for the team!)

In fact, there are direct cross-border buses from HK to Santou, and it departs at 09:00 and 15:00.

You can take the bus at Connaught Road west, Waterloo Road in yau Ma Tei or Fanling Station.

If you prefer to take the train, you can take a train from Hung Hom Railway Station to the Guangzhou East, then take another train to Shantou.
As for your itinerary, I suggest you turn to this website, you may find many helpful info here.

I meant the website that you are visiting (TravelChinaGuide), so no need to write down the link again.
