question regarding my brother's visa

Hi, Im married to a Chinese man and im currently residing here in China with him for almost 3 yrs now. Im planning to invite my brother to come to China to visit me here. Im holding a 1 year residence permit now.
I dont have a bank account under my name, is it possible that my husband will me the one to provide all the supporting documents for my brother's application? Like bank statement of account, our marriage contract, and his China IC. And what type can my brother apply?
Thank you.

Mariecris, how long will you plan invite your brother to stay in China?

If it is no more than 30 days, he can just apply for a single entry Tourist L. You can just ask your husband to write him an invitation letter and then he can apply it in his country.

If you want to him to stay longer, he can try to apply for a Q2. If so, the invitation letter is still needed. Then cppy of your marriage certificate, a kinship certificate and his ID card are needed.

thank you Myron.
Is it possible if we choose to apply a Q1 type, because I wanted him to stay here for more than 180 days.. for example we apply for Q1 and my brother is not qualified, can an embassy just automatically give him Q2? or if he's not qualified for Q1, is the application automatically rejected?

I don't think your brother can appy for Q type, Q1 or Q2, to be precise because you don't acquire permanent residence permit yet. In my view, he can only apply for a L type. You just need to send him an invitation letter.

Hi, only the relatives can apply for a Q type based on the policy, but personally speaking, your friend cannot be regarded as a relative of your husband.

So mariecris, you are suggested to consult the Chinese embassy in Philippines for a exact answer.

thank you edison, but he's my brother, not a friend. he's a bother-in-law of my husband, so he is a relative..

The defination of "relatives" may be different in this rules with your understanding. So you are highly suggested to ask the embassy directly. They have the final right to decide which type to issue.
