About:Embassy of Zimbabwe in China

Is it possible to apply for a Z Visa at the Zim emabssy here in China without going back home?

and how long does it take to process

Bee, I don't think you can do that. You need to go back to Zimbabwe to apply for a Z type from Chinese embassy there.
