About:Chinese Embassy in Australia

3 month or 6 month visa?

Hi, Me and my girlfriend are travelling round Asia starting in early December and not arriving to China until the 8th Feb 2015, exiting on the 22nd Feb 2015. We only require a single entry visa (planned trip: Beijing - Xian - Chengdu - Shanghai then out to HK) but notice these are only available for 3 months.

We are keen to apply sorted in the UK before we leave but don't want to leave it as late as end of November as we would have to apply after 22nd November so that it is applicable during our full stay (but this is only a couple of weeks before we leave the UK). We dont want to risk applying this late in case there are any delays getting it back. Therefore, as we are keen to get these done way before end of November to avoid delay risks, I am wondering if you have any single entry 6 month type OR whether we can apply for a double entry 6 month entry one even though our supporting itinerary will clearly show we will only enter once?

Thanks,
Neil

Neil, there are six months multiple entries L type. But it's difficult to get if you didn't go to China before. And it's possible that the embassy issued a single entry one to you even though you apply for six months L type. May I know where you will be before you go to China? Although Chinese embassy doesn't encourage foreigners to apply outside of their countries, foreigners actually can apply. Or you may go to HK first and then enter China from there. It's easier for you to apply for a CHinese L type in HK.

Hi,
We will be in Thailand, Loas, Cambodia and Vietnam between December to early February before flying to Beijing on Feb 8th. Unfortunately, we can't go HK first as we have already booked the flights and HK is our exit route after visiting Shanghai. Can you please advise the options...?

Thanks,
Neil

Neil, you may apply when you are in Thailand. According to what I know, many foreigners from UK, US and other developed countries apply successfully in Thailand.
