About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

round trip or not?

Hi, I am flying from Taipei - Guangzhou via Hong Kong, I would stay 1 day in Guangzhou, and then I to HK. Technically this is not a round trip, since I come originally from Taipei. Would this affect the 72h visa? Would I be able to enjoy it?

Thanks

Although you originally start from Taipei, but you make a transfer in HK. The officer will consider that you fly from HK to Guangzhou, so that they will consider your trip as a round trip. Therefore, you are not be able to use the 72-hour free transit.
