About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

I want to fly LAX to PVG.

Stay for 48 hours, then fly to Bangkok, but my airline has a (brief) layover in HongKong on the way to BKK. Can I still qualify for the 72 hour Visa free?

Hi, JimmyB, it is still qaulified for the 72-hour free transit, since HK is regarded as a third region. Please do not worry.

Hi, Laurent. If you still have a short stop in Bejing from Shanghai to Geneva, you cannot enjoy the 72-hour free transit policy.

For multiple-stop in China, you can only apply for a stay permit if you stay in China for no more than 24 hours.
