About:Chinese Embassy in U.K.

When I arrive in Beijing, can I wait 2 - 3 hours before applying for 72 hr transit visa?

I understand the 72 hours begins from the time of the transit issue. The time between my landing in Beijing and my departure to the third country is 75 hours.

And, If I can wait, will I have my luggage, or is the transit G application office before I get to luggage claim?

Hi, Beth. The luggage claim is before you pass the immigration.
If you can check in for your departure flight within 72 hours, the problem may not exist.
