I'm travelling to china for CANTON fair.

My schedule is to fly to mainland china then to MACAU from there to Hong kong. I will fly out HK back home.My question is whether a single entry visa is enough for mainland china and on-board visa is given while entering Macao and Hong Kong

Yes, a single visa for China mainland is enough. I notice that you are from India, so you are exempt from visa for some days in Macao and HK. No on-board visa is needed. Don't worry!
