Is my Step-son a rat or a horse?

My step-son's birthday is Jan 5, 1990. He is a horse on many charts, why is he rat on your calendar?

He's born in the snake year.

Anything before the 27th Jan 1990 is a Snake anything after is a horse, hope this helps out. Also if your Birthday is in Jan or Feb you might be in the year before. Worth checking.
