is invitation letter necessary for pakistan people to travel to china?

Hello,I want to visit china from Pakistan for pleasure but I don't have any relative there. Is it necessary to have invitation letter from relative residing in China???Further, If I want to apply for visa application myself is it possible or there is a must to I hire a consultant?? If yes please provide relevant website.

If you want to visit China, you need to join a tour, otherwise, you cannot get a tourist L to China. You cannot apply on your own. For detail information, you may need to look on the website of Chinese Embassy in Pakistan.
