visiting girlfreind in china from uk

Question

I will be visiting my girlfreind in China from the UK.  We will stay at her house while in China and make a trip to Thailand and back to China during the visit.  We will stay at hotels while in Thailand.  Whole trip will last no more than two weeks.  Please can you advise which visa I need and also do I need a letter of invitation?

Since you will enter China first and then to Thailand and return to China, you need to apply for a double entry Tourist L type to visit China. Since you will stay in her house in China, you need to ask your gf to provide you an invitation letter. The letter should have your basic information, your visiting purpose and her basic information (phone, number, address, etc).
