How to apply the 72 hour transit visa?

Do we need to apply it before we enter Beijing or once we arrive at Beijing? I have a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Dhaka on 23rd and then flight from Dhaka to Beijing by Cathay on 26th and return flight from Beijing to Kuala Lumpur on 28th. So I will only be in Beijing for 48 hour.

Lina, you just need to follow the signs to reach the window where you can apply after you arrive at the airport. It just takes a few minutes.

Hi Martin,

Thanks for the fast reply. So it means that we can just apply it once we arrive at Beijing? Do we need to notify the airlines before we depart? Means I need to notify Cathay before I depart to Beijing from Dhaka saying that I need to apply the 72 hour transit visa?

You will reach Beijing airport, right?
If so, you do not need to notify your airline that you want to enjoy the policy in advance. You can do it on your own when you reach the airport.
