About renewal of passport

To introduce myself I am kumar, Currently studying at Zhejiang Agriculture and Forest University, Linan (Zhejiang province). My passport validity get finished by this year October.I want to renew my passport. For that I have to go for Beijing or to Shanghai. Could you verify it.
