About:China City Guide

China holiday, end Oct / early Nov (family trip, all adults) - Is it a good idea?

I'm thinking to visit China with my family for the first time this year (myself + wife + daughter 28yrs + son 26yrs) . We have a window of up to 2weeks from 25 October.

Some travel agents are saying this might not be the best time to visit. We don't like very hot weather, 10-20C is generally fine for us. I believe is the average in the Shanghai / Beijing area according to one website.

What is more important is that the main attractions should be open, and the places we visit are alive with activity.

Do you think its ok (good idea) to visit China in this period and which destinations would you recommend.

Appreciate your help.

As u prefer comfortable weather, it is fine to visit around Oct. 25, when the scenery in some places are still fascinating.

Almost attractions in Beijing and Shanghai are open throughout the year, so just have a full visit. In Beijing, you cannot miss the Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, Badaking Great Wall, Ming Tombs and Wangfujing pedestrain. If time permits, go to Qianmen and Dazhalan for cheap shopping. In Shanghai, I recommend the Bund and Huangpu River, Zhujiajiao Water Town, Orient Pearl TV Tower and Nanjing Road to you. Apart from the two cities, you should not miss Xian, Chengdu and Guilin.

To fully enjoy yourselves, it is best to join a tour and they will arrange everything for you.
