Is it ok to bring a sword from china to US on check baggage?

I'm bringing a sword from my house in china and I was wondering whether I would be allowed to bring it home to the US in my checked baggage. According to the TSA it has to be in checked baggage, but I'm not sure about China's regulations.

It may not be taken out of China, since the sword is always long. It is suggested to think other methods to take it out.

i took a sword out of China and there was no problem. this was last year summer time
