Bike on the G train

I want to take a G train from Suzhou to Beijing and bring a bike. I have seen others do it but unsure the actual rules. The others I saw took off the front wheel and carried it on the train.

Is this all I need to do?

According to the rules, the bike needs to be check-in. For check-in, you need to take apart your bike and pack it in a paper box.

But most of people usually take off the front wheel of their bikes and they can easily be taken to board the train. I saw many when I was traveling on the trains. So you can try it. Most of the train staff will not say. If they do not you go, you can check-in then.
