Difference between Visa Notice and Invitation Letter

I'm Shamoon from Lahore, Pakistan. I've an official training after 2 months in china. I suppose i should apply for F type. Invitation letter is the one which will be provided by the training organization in China. May i ask:

1. What is Visa Notice (another invitation letter from China, if yes, how to obtain it)?
2. Do i have to get prior appointment (online or manual) before i appear in chinese embassay in Islamad, Pakistan?
3. There are boxes to fill-in spouse information in application form. I have spouse, but i'm going alone to China, do i still have to fill-in those boxes?

Thanks

The notice is invitation Letter of Duly Authorized Entity. It is gotten from Chinese local Foreign Affairs Office, where your invitor stays.

It is not necessary to make appointment in advance before going.

You still need to write your spouse'a name although he or she does not go to China.
