About:Chengdu Travel

arriving on ANA from Tokyo and returning to Tokyo via Chengdu. Can I use a 72 hour visa on arrival

If I understand correctly, your route is Tokyo - CD - Tokyo, right? Then I'm afraid you are eligible for the 72h visa free transit.
